A VALID and current Passport is always the most widely accepted and important proof of citizenship you can have. For U.S. and Canadian citizens departing on cruises from North American ports: if you do not have a valid Passport, you must carry a Certified Copy of your Birth Certificate (the copy with the raised seal) along with a photo identification, such as your driver’s license. Your driver’s license alone is not sufficient identification, and the cruise line can deny you boarding if you do not show up with the proper documentation.

A VISA may be required for some countries, such as China, Russia (for independent travel only), Brazil or Kenya. If a Visa is required, the cruise line will supply the appropriate Visa applications and advise us of the special contracted Visa fee they have negogiated with their Visa Service. Most cruise lines use Zierer Visa Service.

If you are traveling into MEXICO with a minor and both parents are not booked on the cruise (or flight), you will be required by the carrier (airline or cruise line) to provide a notorized letter of consent from the parent who is not accompanying their child on the trip. This is a unique (and important) regulation for MEXICO only. If you do not provide this written and notorized authorization from the absent parent, you may be legally denied boarding (with no refund).

Passports can be obtained through the U.S. Passport Office or through most major local Post Offices. For more info click here
